How to Calibrate Your pH Meter

1. Set up the calibration solution
   Add a small amount of pH 7.0 calibration fluid to a clean, dry container. The container only needs to be large enough for the meter’s probe to sit in the solution. A small cup or clean bottle cap is suitable. Do not use a metal container.
2. Rinse the probe
   If possible, rinse the pH meter’s probe with distilled water before starting the calibration process. This helps remove any residue that could interfere with the calibration.
3. Identify your meter’s calibration type
   Depending on the model, your pH meter may use automatic electronic calibration or manual adjustment.

   For electronic calibration:
   Place the probe into the calibration solution and activate the meter’s calibration function. Select pH 7.0 when prompted and confirm the setting. Leave the probe in the solution while the meter completes the calibration process.

   For manual calibration:
   Manual pH meters generally come with a small screwdriver for making adjustments. Look for the calibration screw on the meter, which may be located inside the battery compartment or elsewhere on the unit. Insert the probe into the pH 7.0 solution, then turn the adjustment screw gradually until the meter displays a reading of 7.0.

4. Rinse before use
   Once calibration is complete, remove the probe and rinse it with clean water. Your pH meter is now ready to use.

Important: Do not return used calibration fluid to the original bottle. Once the solution has been used for calibration, discard it.
